Leland Kermesse

Leland Keeremesse demonstrated everything a great bike race should be, a tough course, unpredictable weather, great sportsmanship. 180 brave souls traveled from far and wide to race an unknown race. I may be biased in my opinion, but I will say it was an extraordinary event. We will be posting pictures and writing reviews shortly. If you were part of this spectacle and would like to comment please leave a comment here or email me or any member of the team.

Thank you to all the sponsors, The Town of Leland IL, and all who raced.

  6. Thank you for putting on a truly epic race. Talk about giving us the true European spring classic experience! Riding the gravel in the pouring rain with the lightning and thunder crashing overhead was terrifying yet oddly exhilarating at the same time. Already looking forward to next year...

  10. the only thing that could make it better was if there was some rule about the group not dropping me, but i dont see that happening, thanks for putting this race on as a first time road racer it was an ample feat just finishing this incredible race. Cant wait to ride the gravel and battle the wind again next year.

  12. fantastic race! I'm a mountain biker who occasionally does road races and it was very well run. I would really consider having a spectator viewing area. By default fans were forced to hang out in the road south of the gravel. I attempted to pop up a tent for my wife and three children at the start/finish line, and was asked nicely to take it down. No big deal, but racing is a spectator sport!
